Level 2 - Support Engineer

Micro Macro IT Solutions is based in Hurstville and is a boutique managed services and professional services provider specialising mainly in the healthcare and the retail sector. We are growing and in need of a full-time support engineer to assist with support enquiries and related project work. This role offers scope for development of the right candidate to high level duties.

In this role you will need to:

  • Assist with support requests and work closely with the Service Desk Manager to ensure all our client systems and projects are on schedule and running optimally

  • Provide product and IT expertise to all stakeholders (internal and client) and assist with relevant IT projects

You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an Australian work permit to apply. To be considered for this role you MUST have the following qualifications, technical knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Excellent personal presentation and customer service skills

  • Superior written and verbal skills (must be fluent in English) and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person and on the phone

  • Proven experience in supporting enterprise server and network solutions for both voice and data networks

  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows Server systems including Exchange, SQL server and other related Microsoft Server technologies

  • Proficiency with cloud technologies including Microsoft 365 / Office 365, Azure, AWS

  • Proficiency with virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V, VMware)

  • Solid level of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in all levels of ICT

  • Ability to prepare and maintain detailed documentation

  • Self-motivated with the initiative and ability to work in a fast-moving environment

  • Willingness to assist others and provide a point of escalation

  • Solid IT foundations and the ability to find and come up with creative solutions

  • A valid Australian Drivers Licence

  • At least 3 years relevant commercial experience in similar role

  • Experience working within the IT services or managed services industry and solid experience with related systems such as anti-virus, firewall, VPN, backup etc

The following are also highly desirable:

  • Experience with a Remote Management Systems (RMM)

  • Experience with a Ticketing Systems (PSA)

  • Industry certifications

  • Experience with medical software systems, practice management systems, electronic medical records or other health related software especially within the medical specialist sector

  • Experience with PABX telephony systems and VoIP

  • Experience with scripting technologies
